  • Anatomy and Physiology - link - apply knowledge of anatomy and health concepts; in particular, of the skeletal, muscular, and endocrine systems
  • Cell Biology - link - solve problems involving cell biology, identification of cellular structures
  • Disease Detectives - link - apply principles of epidemiology to real-life health situations
  • Ecology - link - answer questions regarding adaptation and different ecosystems
  • Ornithology - link - identify birds and their characteristics and habitats

Earth Science

  • Astronomy - link - identify deep sky objects and solve astronomy problems
  • Dynamic Planet - link - work with earth science materials to answer questions about volcanoes and earthquakes
  • Fossils - link - identify, describe, and classify fossil specimens
  • Remote Sensing - link - read maps and remote sensing images to explain human impact on earth

Chemistry and Physics

  • Chemistry Lab - link - demonstrate chemistry lab skills, answer chemistry questions
  • Environmental Chemistry - link - answer questions pertaining to the environment, including chemical reactions, characterization, and quantification
  • Forensics - link - identify polymers, solids, fibers, etc. in a crime scenario
  • It's About Time - link - answer physics time-related questions, operate time-keeping device
  • Physics Lab - link - demonstrate physics laboratory skills, answer physics questions

Inquiry

  • Experimental Design - link - design, conduct, analyze, and write-up an experiment
  • Picture This - link - communicate scientific terms and concepts using pictures
  • Technical Problem Solving - link -demonstrate laboratory skills and answer questions related to all five sciences (biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, data/inquiry)
  • Write It Do It - link -one student writes a description of a contraption; one student attempts to recreate it using that description

Engineering

  • Egg-O-Naut - link - design, construct, and launch rockets to stay aloft the greatest amount of time, carrying a raw egg
  • Elevated Bridge - link - design, build, and test the most efficient bridge to hold a maximum load
  • It's About Time - link - build an accurate time-keeping device
  • Mission Possible - link - construct a Rube Goldberg-like device to accomplish a task with multiple steps
  • Mousetrap Vehicle - link -construct car powered only with energy from a mousetrap
  • Trajectory - link - design, construct, and operate a catapult
